America is facing an education crisis. According to the 2024 report from the National Assessment on Education Progress, better known as the “Nation’s Report Card,” only 30 percent of America’s 8th graders were proficient in reading and only 28 percent were proficient in math. What’s more, our education system is facing an unprecedented moral crisis, prioritizing radical ideologies over any kind of transcendent moral framework.

In response, Christian school leaders are uniting like never before through the United States Christian Education Network (USCEN).

Launched in 2025, USCEN brings together Evangelical and Catholic schools to advocate at
statehouses for the protection and expansion of Christian education.

Based on the successful model of the Ohio Christian Education Network, USCEN partners
with state advocacy leaders to give Christian school leaders a voice in the public policy
debates of the day. USCEN also partners with local church leaders to launch new Christian
schools in churches.

USCEN is the official state-based public policy partner of the Association of Christian
Schools International (ACSI).

Education Funding

States should fund students, not systems. Every child should be eligible for a scholarship or voucher to attend the school of their parents’ choice.

Regulation

Christian schools, whether they access school choice programs or not, should not be burdened with onerous regulations.

HISTORY

In 2018, Center for Christian Virtue, an Ohio-based Christian public policy organization,
formed the Ohio Christian Education Network (OCEN).

Today, OCEN is a network of 200 dues-paying Evangelical and Catholic schools. OCEN’s
advocacy has led to the passage of universal school choice programs in Ohio, the creation
of a scholarship tax credit, the defeat of anti-religious liberty legislation, and many other
public policy victories for Christian education. OCEN has also built a successful model for churches to launch new Christian schools.

The United States Christian Education Network was formed in response to the demand
from state leaders across the country to form similar networks to expand and protect
Christian education, state-by-state.
